Epropulsion Spirit 1 plus vs RemigoOne Neo

This page is designed to help people make a choice between 2 of the leading 1kw range outboards.  As we have used and used both engines there is not a right or wrong answer and hence it will come down to your own personal requirements.

What they have in common

  • Push button start
  • Maintenance free
  • Virtually silent
  • Easy to use
  • Direct drive so no gear box

So both of the engines are great for tenders, small boats as a main engine up to around 500kg and as a back up engine for up to 1.6 tons.

ePropulsion Spirit 1 plus

This has detachable battery and hence other batteries can be used if required.  Please note that the current single battery will last 4-6 hours on a tender,   and will give a range of around 16 nm on a 1 ton boat.

Its also made by the global market leader in electric outboard engines and is slightly cheaper the Remigo Neo

RemigoOne Neo

This has inbuilt 1Kwh battery ( spirit has 11.d Kwh) but has a few other features that for some people is worth thee extra money ie

  • Far lighter at only 12kg
  • Only 1 unit to carry
  • Optimised performance due to adjustable shaft length
  • Option throttle remote control
  • Increased manoeuvrability due to design shape
  • 50% extra power in boost mode.
  • Higher tilt angle on the tiller
  • No need to buy different shaft lengths

Summary

Though both engines have been out for a while the ePropulsion spirit 1 plus is far better known.   The Remigo Neo electric outboard though is lighter, more power and far more versatile
